Spring Break 2021 Work Permit Information

​Once a student has been offered a job, the student downloads and prints a work permit application:  B1-1, “Statement of Intent to Employ Minor and Request for Work Permit” from their high school website, the District’s Career Readiness website, or internet. 

Directions to Complete the B1-1 Work Permit Form BEFORE submitting for processing at office.

  1. Students must completely fill out the B1-1 section, using black or blue ink.
  2. Students must request that the employer completely fill out the employer section. The “Description of Work” must be detailed and complete. Students must obtain employer signature prior to school site/district verification and the two signatures (student and employer) must be within seven (7) days of each other.
  3. The student must obtain parent/guardian approval with a signature.
  4. Student emails the completed B1-1 form to the McLane High School Job Developer at Rafael.Lopez-Tinoco@fresnounified.org
  5. Students will receive a copy of the work permit for students to sign electronically and then sends it back to the Job Developer for the final signature from an authorized authority administrator.
  6. The final copy of the work permit will be sent back to the student.
  7. The student is responsible for submitting the final work permit to the employer.​

Per California Labor Law, students cannot work during school hours.​

Per AB 908, schools cannot deny a work permit for grades, GPA, or school attendance if school has been physically closed for an extended time due to natural disaster, pandemic or other emergency
